Did you know? Famed aviator Charles Lindbergh learned to fly in Americus at Souther Field.


This is the final resting place of many of the founding fathers of Sumter County and the final resting places of many of our brave boys in gray in the Confederate section of the cemetery.
Oak Grove Cemetary

This unique grave is said to hold the earthly remains of Wright Brady and a horse……the grave at his feet is the perhaps not so final resting place of his wife.

Windsor Hotel - Lamar Street

The friendly ghost of a precautious little girl, her mother and the old elevator operator Floyd who loved his job so much that he has chosen to work on in his after-life.
Rylander Theatre - Lamar Street

Old theaters are known venues for a haunting and this one is said to be no exception. Reported to be haunted by a former employee!! Such dedication still hard at work in his after-life.

The Colonal Fish House - Hwy 49
The Colonal Fish House, is said to be haunted by the ghost of Colonel George Fish after he was found murdered here in the late 1800's. The house was originally located in Oglethorpe. The ghost followed its house to its current location.

The Garden Inn 'Bed & Breakfest' - Reese Park Drive
This historic inn, built in 1847, also plays host to a ghost.
